There are quite a few places around the Diocese of Joliet and the neighboring dioceses where young adult ministry is happening.  There are a number of young adult organizations, some local, spontaneous programs and things being organized by parishes in addition to what we do in this office.

Sts. Peter and Paul Young Adults, Naperville

Our mission is to form a Catholic community of young adults ages 18-39, both married and single, focused on seeking an authentic and deeper relationship with Christ through community, faith formation, and participation in the life of the Church. Our vision for young adult ministry is to create a strong community of fully committed, Catholic young adult disciples of Christ by providing the space and environment where young adults can be free to encounter Christ in a deeper way through authentic fellowship, the power of God’s word, the sacraments, and ultimately, Christ’s Real Presence in the Eucharist. We hope to empower the young adults to be able to go and make other young adult disciples, and help them also to fully participate in the life of the parish, thereby giving back to parish life. Please contact Tiffany Pyle at tpyle@sspeterandpaul.net or check us out on our Facebook page if you are interested in getting involved.

Called To Holiness

Called to Holiness is a faith sharing and Bible study group in New Lenox, IL and the surrounding area. Called to Holiness is committed to provide an environment where Catholics in their 20s and 30s can make new friends, grow in faith by reading and studying scripture, engage in lively discussion and meaningful prayer, and form truly personal relationships with Jesus Christ. For more information contact Jennifer Sanford.

Holy Trinity, Westmont

The Holy Trinity young adult ministry is a group of Catholic young adults (18-39) seeking to authentically pursue the Lord through prayer, the Sacraments, fellowship, service, and evangelization.  They believe that their faith can be ignited through community and above all devotion to the Eucharist. For this reason the young adults at Holy Trinity take special initiative to Seek Holiness in the Eucharist or SHINE. This group meets on a weekly and monthly basis for times of prayer, fellowship, Adoration, Mass, and service opportunities.  For more information contact Chris Simon at csimon@holytrinitywestmont.org or visit https://www.facebook.com/holytrinityyam/.

FIAT is the Young Adult Group (ages 18-35) of St. Mary Immaculate Parish in Plainfield, Illinois. Through community with our peers, we grow not only in our faith but in relationship with each other. In Catholicism, the word Fiat refers to Mary's YES to God when the Angel Gabriel visited her at the Annunciation. In Latin, Fiat means "let it be" or "let it happen/exist." As young adults, we are constantly inundated by a world full of distractions. We have to be intentional and purposeful with our own Fiat, to say YES to God. Join FIAT! Come hang out with friends, meet new people, take part in awesome events, and be encouraged by your peers. Through fellowship, service, worship, and discipleship, WE SAY YES. WE ARE FIAT. For more info and to connect with FIAT on social media, visit www.fiatsmi.org.

Tenth Hour Initiative is a Catholic young-adult initiative inspired by John 1:39. We invite all young-adults to take on the radical adventure of following Christ today in the here and now - wherever they are - and to invite others to do the same.
