In 1993 the diocese formed its present Diocesan Review Committee to review allegations of sexual abuse by clergy. About two years later additional members were added. The members of the Diocesan Review Committee are:

The Honorable William Penn - Judge Penn was a full Circuit Judge in Will County for many years and is now retired. During his tenure he handled a variety of matters and served in several divisions of the Circuit Court System including the General Chancery Call for the entire county, as well as serving in the Juvenile Court and consequently dealing with multiple issues some of which included child physical and sexual abuse.

Mr. Ernie Stark - Mr. Stark has recently retired from Benet Academy. He most recently had been principal of that high school for many years and during that tenure had first hand experience dealing with multiple social issues involving students, parents and faculty.

Rev. Gerald Tivy - Pastor of St. Joan of Arc, Lisle.

Mrs. Cynthia A. Power - Licensed clinical counselor and co-founder of Life Enrichment Services of Wheaton. Certified as a Sex Addiction Therapist, Compulsive Gambling Counselor, Sex Counselor and an Addiction Specialist. Employs her skills on a national level.

Dr. Alexander J. Spadoni - Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Loyola Medical School, Director of Adult/Adolescent Psychiatric Service at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet. Former President of the Will-Grundy Medical Society and the Illinois Psychiatric Society. Founder and past President of the Illinois Association of General Hospital Psychiatrists.

Mrs. Shirley Robinson - Graduate of Jane Addams School of Social Work at the University of Illinois and Northwestern University Department of Psychiatry in Family Therapy. Has worked since 1968 in the field of child abuse. Specialized in the treatment of sexual abuse since 1978. Married with four children and six grandchildren.

Cathy J. Nusgart - Former Assistant State's Attorney in DuPage County with over five (5) years experience in the child abuse unit.

Dr. Timothy Brown - Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and Director of the Kane County Diagnostic Center.

William G. Plahm - Former detective for the Cook County Sheriff's Police Department.  Specialized in Internet child exploitation cases.  Masters degree from Lewis University.
