BISHOP BLANCHETTE STATUE DEDICATED
On January 6, 2017 (Bishop Blanchette's 104th birthday), Bishop Conlon dedicated the bronze statue of Bishop Blanchette which is located at the entrance of the Blanchette Catholic Center. Natalie Bayci, Bishop Blanchette's longtime secretary, unveiled the statue. Priests of the Diocese helped provide the funding for the creation of the statue and a permanent plaque acknowledging the generosity of our priests will be hung near the statue. Be sure to visit the statue the next time you come to the BCC.
CHRISM MASS DAY OF REFLECTION
Fr. Tom McCarthy, OSA, will be the presenter for our afternoon of reflection on Monday, April 10, beginning at 2:00 PM.
2017 PRIEST RETREAT
The Joliet Priest Retreat at the Cardinal Stritch Retreat House will be held September 11-15. Fr. Lambert Reilly, OSB will be the retreat director.
2017 PRIEST CONVOCATION
The 2017 Priest Convocation is scheduled for October 2-5, 2017.
2018 ALL - PRESBYTERATE RETREAT
The next all-presbyterate retreat at Mundelein Conference Center is scheduled for October 22-26, 2018.
According to diocesan policy, all diocesan priests ordained at least 15 years (with 7 years of service in the diocese) are eligible for a sabbatical. Priests are also eligible for another sabbatical 10 years after the first. Applications should be submitted 6 months prior to the date the sabbatical would begin. Any diocesan priest who is considering doing work toward an advanced degree (in whatever area of study) is asked to contact Bishop Siegel at the Office of Ongoing Formation for Priests prior to beginning the program.

CONFESSIONS AT ST. PROCOPIUS ABBEY
The monks at St. Procopius Abbey continue to offer the sacrament of reconciliation for priests Monday - Friday, from 12:45 PM - 1:45 PM in the monastery reconciliation chapel. If a priest is not in the chapel, please check with the receptionist. We are most grateful to Abbot Austin and the monks for offering this service for priests.
