2019 PRIEST RETREAT
The Joliet Priest Retreat at the Joseph and Mary Retreat House (formerly known as the Cardinal Stritch Retreat House) will be hel Sptember 16 - 20.  Fr. Daniel Crosby, OFM Cap. will be the retreat director.  Registration information will be in hte June Priests' Page.

 

GOD'S HEALY MERCY WORKSHOP/RETREAT
The Sacrament of Reconcilation: Opening Hearts to Encounter the Liberating Power of God's healing Mercy, a retreat/workshop will be held from May 19, 2019 to May 24, 2019 at Our Lady of Divine Providence House of Prayer in Clearwater, Florida.  it is offered for all priests who desire to develop greater gifts of interior listening and discernment in administering the Sacrament of Reconciliation.  Cost:  $975.00.  To register, email: retreats@divineprovidence.org or call: 727.799.4003.

 

WORKSHOP JUST FOR PASTORS
St. Paul Seminary Institute for Ongoing Clergy Formation is offering a workshop for pastors from September 29, 2019 to October 3, 2019 at Christ the King Retreat enter in Buffalo, MN.  The workshop focuses on day-to-day leadership, mangerial & administrative challenges facing a pastor, and provides the necessary tools and practical skills.  Pastors will gain understaning of how to prioritize & manage time, how develop a strategic plan, how to lead effective teams and meetings, how to manage conflict.  Topics also include human resources and working with councils.  For more information contact Deacon Daniel Gannon J.D., M.A. at the Institute for Ongoing Clergy Formation in St. Paul, MN 651.210.9651 or gann9131@stthomas.edu

 
2019 PRIEST CONVOCATION

The 2019 Convocation is scheduled for October 7 – 10, 2019.

 

2020 ALL- PRESBYTERATE RETREAT
The 2020 All-Presbyterate Retreat at Mundelein Conference Center is scheduled for October 26 - 30, 2020.

 

SABBATICALS
According to diocesan policy, all diocesan priests ordained at least 15 years (with 7 years of service in the diocese) are eligible for a sabbatical.  Priests are also eligible for another sabbatical 10 years after the first.  Applications should be submitted 6 months prior to the date the sabbatical would begin.  For more information and for application materials, please contact Nora at noral@dioceseofjoliet.org or 815-221-6184.

 

ONGOING STUDIES
Any diocesan priest who is considering doing work toward an advanced degree (in whatever area of study) is asked to contact Fr. David at the Office of Ongoing Formation priestsongoingformation@dioceseofjoliet.org prior to beginning the program.

CONFESSIONS AT ST. PROCOPIUS ABBEY
The monks at St. Procopius Abbey continue to offer the sacrament of reconciliation for priests Monday - Friday, from 12:45 PM - 1:45 PM in the monastery reconciliation chapel.  If a priest is not in the chapel, please check with the receptionist.  We are most grateful to Abbot Austin and the monks for offering this service for priests.
