TESTIMONIALS

October 23, 2008

Hello Eric

I just wanted to thank you.  From the moment I walked in the door and you not only shook my hand but gave me a hug, to the moment Lisa and I left, you were what I consider the absolute perfect person to help people like myself through the process of picking out their final resting place.

You are a kind and considerate person.  Lisa and I were talking on the way home (just try to stop the two of us from talking!!), and we also so appreciated your sense of humor.

You made both of us feel at ease during a stressful time.

I also want to thank you for "jogging my memory" regarding the space I picked out.  I do not know why I only had the upper spaces in the Chapel, and the spaces in the newer building in mind, but when you reminded me of the space I eventually picked out, I was so glad you did.

Again, thank you Eric for all of you help today.  This is one more thing I can feel good about having behind me.

Bless you!

Dear Eric,

This letter is to thank you for the help that you gave to me in pursuit of materials for the Joliet Diocesan Council of Catholic Women's workshop at our convention which will be held in October in Lombard.  Your booklet "When the time comes: A guide to my last wishes" is much better and more complete than I was expecting.  The information in it is most helpful to familes when needed.  You never know when that time will come.  The material and blanks to be filled in ahead of time is especially very useful in pre-planning one's last wishes.  One does not have to be at their end of life to complete the answers.  In fact, it is wiser to fill in the blanks when you are well and composed.  This booklet is a great help especially for family members in their planning when an emergency occurs, and families should be aware of its existence and its accessible location.  Probably it would be beneficial to keep with one's will and other papers.  You have written a terrific document and have done an outstanding job in putting this booklet together and should be so commended for your fine ministry to our Diocese.

On behalf of the JDCCW, it is very much appreciated that every member of our convention will receive a copy in their convention packets.  It will be promoted and discussed in my convention workshop.  Almost everyone attending our convention will be from our Joliet Diocese other than a few speakers, and they will certainly see how Joliet sets the example for others to follow.

I would also like to thank your staff for assisting me in renewing my grandmother and grandfather's grave (Catherina and John Kobe) at St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Joliet.  The information that your office holds is most informative and helpful, even though years have gone by since their demise.  The people that work in your office are really kind and compassionate people, as well as yourself-of course!

Thank you again for all your help, and may the Good Lord continue to bless you and keep you.

Very truly yours,

Barbara Garavalia

Dear Bishop Imesch,

May the peace of the Risen Lord always be with you!  Recently, my brother Dan passed away unexpectedly.  This was a tragic loss to our family.  To help with the burial arrangements I contacted Eric Holloway who is in charge of the Risen Lord Cemetery in Oswego.  I anticipated that this would be simply a business deal, but it was far from that.  It was as if Mr. Holloway was a member of my family.  The care and concern he espressed helped me truly trust that we were in good hands and would not have to worry about the many details in the arrangements.  Mr. Holloway ministered to my family in the most compassionate, sincere, and loving way.  I would like to acknowledge his giftedness in serving those who are grieving and assisting with the many decisions that are not easy to make.

Bishop Imesch, I thank you for appointing such an outstanding individual.  Eric Holloway truly serves the Joliet Diocese with much devotion to our Catholic faith in serving God's people.

God bless you abundantly,
