ADOPT A SEMINARIAN

April 2008

Dear Friends in Christ,

Hello from the Joliet Diocese Vocation Office! I would like to invite you to participate in a program called “Adopt –a-Seminarian”. Seminarians are the men who are studying to be our future priests. They are excited about the opportunities they have to share God’s love with people. Like all of us, our seminarians need prayers and encouragement, and I am asking parishioners from around the diocese to help in supporting our seminarians.

This should be a fun way for you or your class to learn a little more about priesthood and our seminarians. If you choose to adopt a seminarian, you will receive a picture of the seminarian with his address and some information. We ask that you occasionally send him a note or card of support and that you include him your prayers throughout the year. In return, we will ask the seminarian to pray for you to write to you occasionally and perhaps a personal visit when he is home from school. There is no financial obligation with this program.

If you have any questions about the “Adopt-a-Seminarian” program, please call the Vocation Office at 815.834.4004. You can also email Nora @ dojnora@aol.com

Thank you! Please know of my prayerful support for you.

God bless,

Father Burke Masters
Diocese of Joliet Vocation Director
